Diamond In the Rough : Ferrid Kheder

Record: 13-4
Association: Cobra Kai
Height: 5’7” (170 cm)
Weight: 170lbs (78kg)
Birth Date: 3/3/1975
Style: Judo/Muay Thai

Ferrid Kheder is a highly skilled Judoka of French and Tunisian decent. He has only been actively competing in mixed martial arts for a little over three years. Sporting a record of 13-4 he has never been finished in any of his 17 MMA bouts. Kheder trains out of Team Cobra Kai in Victorville, CA with the likes of Joe Stevenson and Aaron Riley.

Kheder has been a training in Judo for over 25 years, and now has begun to make his move in the MMA scene. In 2009 he is 4-0 and is on an eight fight win streak. To date Kheder's biggest win has come against Drew Fickett in January of 2009 at C3 Fights - Knock-Out Rock-Out Weekend. Fickett a former UFC fighter and highly regarded fighter was the main event attraction and expected to win. Kheder had other plan as he beat Fickett by KO in the third round.

Kheder has a good array of striking and submissions, and as mentioned before he is rather new to MMA and has only been training since 2005, the sky is the limit for Kheder. Of his thirteen victories ten have been finishes, with five (T)KO's and five submissions. His striking and submissions mixed in with his Judo make Kheder a difficult fight for anyone who takes a fight with him, and no one will be in for an easy night if they take a fight against him.

Kheder stays grounded knowing nothing is just given, you have to work for it. He has great Judo credentials but he does not rely on those credentials to land him big fights. Kheder has stated that he is looking to gain as much experience as possible before looking to fight in a big organization. With his drive and understanding of the importance of development, expect to see him in one of the big shows soon.
